Just a quick note to get things going. I’m the PCLinuxOS Magazine Chief Editor, and an avid supporter of PCLinuxOS, Linux in general, and FOSS. I have cut the ties with Microsoft and their endless stream of overpriced software with more security holes in it than Swiss cheese. Of course, I continue to use (limitedly) my copies of legally purchased Microsoft products, but I run them now in Virtual Box running on PCLinuxOS. Amazingly, Windows XP runs faster and better in Virtual Box than it ever did when it was installed on my computer’s hard drive!

I am married to the most wonderful, beautiful woman in the world, Laura. She has also made the switch to PCLinuxOS, asking me to completely wipe Windows XP off of her Acer Aspire One netbook, and to replace it with the full version of PCLinuxOS 2009.2. She has also had me set up her Dell Vostro 1000 as a dual boot with Windows XP. She rarely boots into the Windows XP side, preferring to use PCLinuxOS. In her words, “it just works and I don’t have to worry about viruses and spyware.”
